How It Works

Agitate systems have developed an ultrasonic clean in place tool with patented technology. This technology can be utilised for many industries including the food and dairy processing as well as the oil and gas industry and water treatment.

Eco-industrial cleaning excellence

Agitate Ultrasonics is the new solution from NRG Marine, the award-winning company behind Sonihull Ultrasonic Antifouling Technology. We have developed and refined industry-leading technologies that safely protect ocean-going vessels and structures from marine growths such as algae, weeds, and (molluscs) barnacles.

With over 15 years of experience in the maritime sector, Sonihull brings their expertise and ultrasonic anti fouling technology to be utilised in other industries. Sonihull are the only ultrasonic cleaning provider to have their own testing laboratory and research and development centre.

  • Non-stop ultrasonic cleaning

With Agitate's solution there is no need for regular maintenance callouts for scaling and fouling in your industrial equipment. Our self-tuning ultrasonic technology maintains clean surfaces with permanent low-intensity ultrasonic protection.

  • Technology that protects inside-and-outside

Agitate's technology prevents issues such as calcification, scaling, and fouling and unwanted biological growth on important equipment like, heat exchangers, cooling systems, strainers and filters, evaporators, boilers, and steam systems.

  • Fit and forget clean in place solutions

Our fit-and-forget clean in place solutions includes technology that produces multiple bursts of ultrasonic energy in a range of targeted pulse frequencies. These pulses are then transmitted through the material that the transducer is attached to. This patented technology is how we help prevent fouling and scaling build-up in industrial assets.

Ultrasonic clean in place technology

When attached to the surface of the asset, the transducers produce a pattern of increasing and decreasing ultrasound pressure on the surface. This process causes agitation, which stops surface contaminants from adhering and provides a cleansing effect. This can be used in many industries like the steel works, water treatment facilties and the oil and gas industry.

How Agitate's technology works: Increasing and decreasing pressure

The ultrasound produces a pattern of increasing and decreasing pressure on the surface of the material. During the reduced pressure cycle, the surface agitation creates microscopic bubbles, which implode as the pressure increases. This microscopic agitation has a cleansing effect which destroys and disrupts surface contaminants.

Agitate's ultrasonic technology

The system creates a boundary layer of microscopic agitation between the pipe wall and the suspended material being transferred.

This leads to a minimal amount of material sticking to surfaces, which drastically reduces blockages, extends maintenance schedules, prevents process shut-downs, and minimises cleaning and disassembly costs.
